F.A.Q.s About Conveyancer For First Home Buyers

As a first home buyer, you’re in a particularly unique situation – you’re about to make one of the biggest financial commitments in your life for the very first time. Think of a conveyancer as your guardian angel throughout this important transaction – JKA & Co especially ensure your interests are protected at every stage of the purchase.

In South Australia this can involve review of:

  • Contract of Purchase

  • Mortgage Documentation
  • First Home Buyers Grants & Approvals

Some conveyancers are stuck in the dark ages, using outdated paper lodgements – JKA was one of the first Conveyancers in SA to transition to PEXA and 100% paperless settlements. In other words our conveyancers have had 3+ years additional experience on the PEXA platform compared to other firms.

With JKA, you can expect a completely conveyancing journey.

In short, the grant helps cover part of either the deposit OR purchase price on new homes only (or both!) It’s not enough by itself though – you’ll need savings AND/OR borrowings to make up the rest.

The FHOG is an amount of $20,000 for all eligible first time buyer. There are some cases where this can be increased to a total of $30,000 if you buy within regional areas or up to $40,000 in certain circumstances such as buying your very own block. The good news is that there may also be other government assistance available too!

you sign your contract of purchase OR have lived in Australia continuously for five years before signing your contract of purchase. Check with JKA & Co beforehand to ensure you meet all eligibility requirements.
